En majesté unfolds as a gallery of portraits in which power is revealed through a lens at once contemporary and timeless. Ambivalent historical figures are transposed into our own era, stripped of their ceremonial attributes, yet keeping a posture, a gesture, an accessory evocative of their status and symbolic legacy.

Ironic and critical, En majesté questions how we construct our figures of authority and our political myths. By laying power bare, the series exposes its raw mechanics: assurance, authority, solitude, vulnerability and absurdity. En majesté does not merely replay history, it confronts it with the present to better decipher its iconicity.
